Holloway House, Murder, Search Factory, and Tony Abbott

At the moment I'm working on my novel. So far it's called 'Holloway House', but I'm sure the name will change, since the events that take place don't all occur around Holloway House itself. It's a murder mystery, however the reader knows who the killer is all along. One of the harder things with writing it is that it is told from several points of view, most of whom are indirectly connected to each other in some kind of way. Kind of like how Game of Thrones is written :) The murderer is obsessed with fairy tales, and kills women who remind him of his mother (although I don't know why yet), and I am really enjoying finding creative ways to kill people off. The last woman was killed by being shoved into a toilet, repeatedly kicked into the mouth so that several of her teeth fell out, having her Achilles heel sliced open, her chest cut open, and pieces of her face and vagina cut off and consumed. I'm completely sane. Honest. I guess I like researching how far one human can go to ridicule another. It's an interesting subject.

I think I like writing about murder because you are able to look into the depth of people's soul, and to find the one thing that makes them snap. I like to question why some kill to accomplish a specific goal and others choose less lethal methods. We know that people kill for power and control, and because they have some kind of antisocial personality disorder. We know it's a result of physical and emotional trauma. No one is born a bad person, not internally, at least. They become bad because of certain triggers in their environment and surroundings. Repressed feelings can be exasperated when someone's coping methods can be removed, causing them to snap and turn to murder. People with suppressed hostility are more likely to snap than others, and that suppression usually includes humility and emotion. I like reading about people who snap. The act of murder, of course, is horrible, but nobody can deny it's not interesting                                                 .

Aside from murder, I've started at my new job. Search Factory is pretty good :) I like the articles they send me to write, since they're pretty easy. Apparently they were all supposed to be monotonous and boring to test my writing ability, and to see if I will snap. Hmm....all this writing about murder can't be good haha

I've been ranting about Tony Abbott lately, no surprise there! From a post on my facebook: It is understood that Tony Abbott is a major misogynist douche. I am not just biased against him because I think we should coup against the current Liberal government. I'm biased against him because he has clearly shown that he has a problem with women. He can laugh all he wants about being ‘misunderstood’ and ‘misquoted’, but it’s pretty clear that he think women belong in the kitchen. Not only does his parliament consist of 90% men, but it has less women than the cabinet of Afghanistan, and there’s no minister for science. Is this because of his religious views? Being a member of parliament is about looking out for EVERYONE’S interests, not just your own. It’s time to coup. I don’t care how much people hate Kevin Rudd, Tony Abbott is a moronic, horrible human being. I’ve got my protest sign ready ;)  (Well, metaphorically speaking!) And have you heart about his new cabinet? It seems they forgot a few things!
1) There's only 1 out of 19 female ministers!
2) There's no ministers for Science, Climate Change, Energy, Youth, Disability, Status of Women, Aged Care, Mental Health, Early Childhood, etc!
