Throwing books, Supanova, diet, and loans

A friend of mine and I were discussing books, and when it is justified throw books at walls. He said: "I guess I'm just more verbal when it comes to exploding at people who push me too far - must be the hammy thespian side of my personality that comes out when I'm angry - though as I said, I have thrown books at walls out of anger for them being so bad. You'll be happy to know "Twilight" was one of them."
I replied: "Oh good! I only read the books because everyone else was reading them, and so I was naturally interested as to what all the fuss was about. The first two were...bearable...although I thought the author had no real talent at all, and simply had a knack of stringing words along, and used a lot of unnecessary synonyms. I read the others because I had hoped the would get better.....but alas, they're all books that are made to be thrown at walls."

So this got me thinking: how bad does a book have to be for it to warrant being thrown at a wall? Obviously, books can get away with stereotypical plots, otherwise 'Eragon' would have ended up in a pile of smouldering ashes. And dedicated readers (such as myself) can push aside the lengthy prose of 'The Lord of The Rings', the camping in 'The Deathly Hollows', and the plot holes ridiculous quests in the 'Spellsinger' series. But there are some books which are just written so bad, or have such horrible character development, that they are worse than a hippy guitarist and a talking otter, or a seemingly endless trek to drop a ring into a volcano. Of course, many people throw books if they are upset with the ending, but how angry do you have to be to hurl it across the room like a ticking time bomb? Do you have to feel immense hatred, or does your heart have to break? What do you have to feel to throw a book so hard the pages literally fall out of the spine? I think the only time I have thrown a book what when it was being used as a weapon. Even then, I was more concerned about the book rather than my victim.

One the subject of books, I've been reading 'A Clash of Kings', and all I can think about is 'The Red Wedding'. Robb's just brought home his new wife, so I know it's going to happen soon. It's gonna suck so bad. I am glad that I have caught up with the series, so now when I read ahead I'll know all the horrible things that happen before the new series starts. Also...on books, and TV shows, and all  things entertainment, I just bought two tickets to Supanova!! I'm so excited! I'm a little concerned because it's so close to my end of year examinations, but it'll be so fun! There's so many great people going. I know it will be an awesome way to celebrate end of semester. I'm almost finished my degree, and will be working more towards my major next year. So....I guess I will look forward to crows feet and hair loss. Yay! Go me!

One of the things I am not looking forward to is going on my diet. I've just started getting back into the gym and my trainer said I need to lose about half of my weight. I'm around a size 14 at the moment after having Isobelle, and I need to get down to a size 10-12. This means going on a diet! It's going to be so hard because I drink a lot of Chai Latte's at uni, which are full of sugar. I also have to stop eating sushi. I had no idea it was so bad for you. So yeah...not looking forward to that. I think I also need to stop binge eating. That's one of my main problems regarding weight loss. I just don't eat 'till the afternoon. I guess now I have to start eating breakfast :( Apart from that, everything is going well with uni, however I have been having a bit of trouble trying to get a loan. My credit check revealed that I had a debt, so I rang the phone company and found out that they had cancelled my payments! Who the fuck just cancelled someone's payments? Luckily I did have a payment history, so I had to prove to the credit agency that I've been slowly paying it off (and that the payments have recommenced). I kept getting redirected to stupid people who couldn't help me, reconfirming that telecommunications is the worst industry in the world. I don't know why people can't find this information? I mean, you'd assume if they know your name, your birthday, and have your bank details, that surely they can figure it out! Apparently not. So now I'm just waiting to hear back from the credit agency so I can reapply for my loan. I just want to go to people's weddings!! Is that so hard to ask for??

Anyway, the photo of the day is... *da da da dummm*
Spirited!! Awesome show. Sucks that it got cancelled :(
